Mama Money’s Chief Growth Officer only finalist from Africa for prestigious Women in Technology Award
Now in its 20th year, the Banking Technology Awards recognise excellence and innovation in the use of IT in financial services worldwide, and the people who make it happen.
The Woman in Technology (W.I.T.) Award honours outstanding women for their leadership and inspiring work in making a positive impact in the financial services industry.
“I am incredibly humbled to have been selected as the only finalist from Africa for The Woman in Technology award as part of the bigger Banking Technology Awards taking place in London,” said Lee Ann Lancaster, Chief Growth Officer at Mama Money.
“At Mama Money, our number one goal is to make it safer and easier for foreign nationals to send money home to their loved ones across Africa and Asia at an affordable price.”
Africa is the most expensive region in the world for money transfers with prices almost 20% higher than any other continent according to the World Bank.
Mama Money has brought down this price significantly to an average of 3% by using mobile technology. This goes a long way in promoting financial inclusion and alleviating poverty for those who need it most.
Mama Money will always strive for social upliftment through financial inclusion, especially where it empowers women with greater access.
Mama Money is growing at a phenomenal pace with plenty of opportunities for top talent to join our family. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or LinkedIn to be the first to know!
